Presentation to Mary Lowe

26th November 2008 & 23rd November 2009

A presentation of €250, the proceeds of a no-uniform day held before Halloween to Mary Lowe, took place in the school on Wednesday, November 26th 2008.

Mary, who lives in Oola, had just returned from a trip to Nepal where she helps at Kiki’s Children’s Home. The Home is situated in the village of Lubhoo, about 60 km outside Kathmandu. This home was opened over three years ago at the initiative of Kiki Kirk, from Lemvig in Denmark. Kiki Kirk was travelling as a tourist in Nepal and was moved by the great distress of many children, especially those living in the streets.

Mary made a very informative and interesting presentation to each class as well as showing photos from her time in Nepal.

On Monday, November 23rd 2009, Mary made a return visit to the school. She brought with her photos of her recent trip to Nepal. She also brought a thank you poster and painting by the children in the Childrens Home to thank the pupils of Oola N.S. for their support. Many thanks to Mary for visiting the school. We wish her well in her work there.
