Wellbeing Week Feb 22 - 26 2021

This week we ran a Wellbeing week. Nowadays our wellbeing and that of our children needs our attention more than ever as the times we are living are so different and we feel disconnected from others. This week we aim to provide pupils with some tools and thoughts to assist them in nurturing their wellbeing, in assisting them to switch from media and stressful aspects of their lives and just focus on the moment and the many positives that they have. We hope it will be a fun activity for the whole family to engage in & try something new together. It is not supposed to be tedious but fun and carefree, so enjoy the week and share your pictures if you like on #OolaNSwellbeingweek.

Scroll down for a choice board of activities you can try during this week. We encourage you as a family to select an activity each day. These activities can be done as a family. We hope that you enjoy the activities.

Fridays thought for the day....

On Thursday February 25th, we had a really interesting talk for parents by Denise Enright, a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in Play Therapy. Denise gave a talk focusing on supporting parents navigating home-school lockdown life. Email Lena at office@oolans.ie for a copy of Denise's handout.

To end our Wellbeing Week activities, we had a webinar on Friday February 26th at 1p.m. for all children, posted here on www.oolans.ie. As part of this Webinar there was a short baking activity, an art activity, movement to story and PE activities. You can simply chose to watch or participate. For art your child will need paper, pencil and colours and for baking see below.

On Friday we also posted an inspiring interview from Ms. Beary with Irish Paralympian Shane Ryan. Shane competed in London 2012 and rowed across the Atlantic from Portugal to French Guiana in 2020.
